The Red Deer River Watershed Alliance is a multi-sector, non-profit organization that was created in September 2005. The Alliance is one of 11 Watershed Planning and Advisory Councils that partner in the delivery of Alberta’s Water for Life Strategy. The Alliance’s role is to:
- Educate the community on the value and importance of watersheds
- Coordinate watershed planning processes
- Facilitate collaborative relationships with all its stakeholders for the development and implementation of the watershed plans
- Advise on the state of the watershed and on watershed management planning
