Our Partners At Work For A Better Tomorrow

Watershed stewardship groups in the Red Deer River watershed are made up of volunteer citizens who take the initiative to protect their local creek, stream, stretch of river or lake. Watershed stewardship groups proactively develop on-the-ground solutions to ensure the protection of the Red Deer River watershed.

Buffalo Lake Naturalist Club (Stettler and Buffalo lake area) is a group of local people who are interested in natural history, the environment and its preservation. It is one of 12 corporate clubs of the Federation of Alberta Naturalists.

Buffalo Lake Water Management Team (Buffalo Lake) provides input and direction for the construction, mitigation and operation of the Parlby Creek, Buffalo Lake Water Management Project.

Butte Action Committee (west central Alberta, Caroline-Spruceview area) is a community group that seeks to protect Alberta fresh water by encouraging sound management and objecting to uses that have a negative impact on surface water and aquifers.

Friends of Little Red Deer River Society (Little Red Deer River subshed) is a registered society that works to enhance the water quality of the Little Red Deer River and its watershed through education and facilitation of management procedures of all stakeholders and users of the river.

Gull Lake Management Society (Gull Lake sub basin) is a registered society that contributes to the preservation of Gull Lake and the area within its watershed as a continuing desirable recreation area. It assists in protecting the water quality of the lake in cooperation with watershed residents.
