Celebrating Our Successes


Prior to the Celebrating Our Successes event, the Red Deer River Watershed Alliance will be hosting its October Watershed Ambassador Breakfast from 8:00am - 9:00am sponsored by the Agroforestry & Woodlot Extension Society (AWES) and ATCO Gas & ATCO Electric. Celebrating Our Successes is a story-telling event with stories from industry, individuals and organizations centered around environmental stewardship successes. Each story presented is no more than 10 minutes long, so come expecting about 15 different stories! There will plenty of time to visit and lunch is included. Due to great sponsorship support there is no charge to attend. October Watershed Ambassador Breakfast

Come out for a free delicious breakfast and take in a very interesting & informative presentation by Curtis Vieville, Project Technician with the Agroforestry & Woodlot Extension Society (AWES). The breakfast will be held at the Lou Soppit Community Centre located at 4733 - 54 Ave, Rocky Mountain House.

AWES is a multisector non-profit society. Their mission is to increase the awareness of the economic, social, and environmental values of agroforestry and woodlots within the landscape by providing project support and extension services such as workshops, tours, and consultations. AWES services include seedling orders and handling, site assessment, site preparation, planting and evaluation in a variety of settings. Curtis will be speaking about the AWES Riparian Planting Research Project.

RDRWA Ambassador breakfasts are an initiative to keep you informed of issues in the watershed, celebrate ambassadors within the watershed and meet like-minded people.
