Watershed Moments: Highlights from our Municipal Bus Tour

On September 12-13, the RDRWA organized a 2-day bus tour for elected officials with the goal of showcasing a range of water and land-related issues across the southeastern portion of the Red Deer River watershed, as well as to encourage better knowledge and awareness of our precious land and water resources, and to highlight examples of best management practices from across the watershed.
Attendees included MLA's, municipal councillors and other elected officials, as well as some members of municipal planning and administrative staff from across the province. Over the course of the two days, our group travelled to select spots throughout the Red Deer River watershed and toured a variety of projects such as wetland restoration sites, grazing and range management, irrigation districts and more! The tour also included a very special overnight stay at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Dinosaur Provincial Park on the banks of the Red Deer River!
