Outreach Education and Stewardship Programs

The Red Deer River Watershed Alliance is dedicated to building healthy relationships between the community and the Red Deer River Watershed.

A watershed is more than just water. A watershed is an area of land where all water drains to a common body of water- be it a lake, wetland, river or ocean. All land, water, human and non-human communities within its boundary are interconnected. By using a watershed approach, you’re learning about the social, economic, and environmental systems in your community.

Our outreach education programs engage students in hands-on, experiential, curriculum based learning opportunties We offer in-class and in-field programs to improve their watershed and water literacy, addressing key outcomes of Alberta Educations program of study. We also engage students through customized programs to meet the needs of your school and students.

We bring FREE programming to all schools within the Red Deer River Watershed.

We engage the public both adult and youth through a number of other opportunities these include but are not exclusive to stewardship groups, summer camps, youth groups, English language learners, seniors, service groups, secondary institutes and community events.

If you have more questions or need more information on how we can help you and your students or group learn more about their watershed, Please contact Joey Temple, Outreach Coordinator at 403-340-7379 or email outreach@rdrwa.ca
