Red Deer - The Red Deer River Watershed Alliance (RDRWA) Society will be holding a Spring Forum, General Meeting and Special Meeting on Friday, March 22, 2013. It will be held in Rosebud at the Rosebud Community Hall. The event is themed as ONE MIND, ONE HEART, ONE WATERSHED - Our Interconnectivity with Earth, Air and Water.

Registration gets underway at 9:30 a.m. with the Forum and General Meeting starting at 10:00 a.m. The morning features a talk by Alvine Eaglespeaker from Siksika Nation. She will provide an Aboriginal perspective on water interconnectivity with earth, air and us. Rounding out the morning, a brief Special Meeting will be convened, where some resolutions are being brought forward by the Board for consideration by the Society’s membership.

Lunch at the Mercantile will await those attending. Following lunch, the afternoon focus is on projects. Wheatland County’s Riparian Project on the Rosebud River will be a topic on the agenda. An update on the Alliance’s watershed management project will complete the day. The event is scheduled to wrap up by 3:00 p.m.

The Alliance is inviting anyone interested to register and attend the full day of activities. “We want the general public to know they are most welcome to register and take in the event,” says Gerard Aldridge, Executive Director of the Alliance. “Who knows, you may decide to become a member of the Red Deer River Watershed Alliance Society!”

The Alliance asks that you let them know if you intend to go. There is an admission cost of $15 per person and lunch is included.
